The Ferrari 849 Testarossa

Testarossa, or TR for short, is one of the most famous names in automotive history. It all began in 1956 when the name was used to describe the striking red valve cover on the Ferrari 500 TR engine. Later, the name also appeared in connection with legendary Le Mans winners and a certain supercar that was immortalised on pin-up posters in the 1980s. Now it returns for a new super sports berlinetta.

The Ferrari 849 Testarossa builds on this heritage while incorporating state-of-the-art technology. The completely redesigned 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, supplemented by three electric motors, delivers a breathtaking 1050 hp. The turbochargers, in turn, are the largest ever installed in a Ferrari road car.

The design is very contemporary with its sharp, geometric lines, while also paying homage to earlier Ferrari models. The front pays tribute to the classic geometries of the 1980s, while the rear is reminiscent of the legendary Ferrari sport prototypes, in particular the Ferrari 512 S with its curved rear flanks and twin exhaust pipes.
