The new S680 Guard version

In an era where the automotive industry is moving towards electric vehicles and downsizing engines, Mercedes insists on keeping the V12 engine alive… but inside an armored car capable of withstanding bullets and explosions.

The new S680 Guard version of the S-Class is not just a luxurious upgrade; it combines maximum mechanical power with the highest levels of VIP protection.

The car is powered by a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 603 horsepower and 830 Nm of torque, despite weighing approximately 4.2 tons, with an electronically limited top speed of 190 km/h.

It is expected that its price will be more than double that of a regular Maybach, after the previous generation was priced at €650,000 up in Germany.

The S680 Guard boasts a VR10 ballistic protection rating for its body and glass, along with an internal fire suppression system, a 900-liter compressed air supply system for emergencies, and power-assisted doors and hydraulic windows that operate even in the event of electrical system failure.

With this move, Mercedes redefines the concept of a special protection vehicle, combining high performance with advanced security systems in a single vehicle. This confirms that the era of V12 engines is far from over, having entered an elite category where power, luxury, and maximum protection converge.
